One Singular Sensation

"Giving up a bit of size and uniqueness is actually the better value." |

Who says “custom home” means 20,000 square feet of palatial living space? Certainly not the more than 400 buyers of a Mike Garcia Homes custom home, says owner Mike Garcia. “People usually think bigger is better, that a bigger home is a better value,” says Garcia. He disagrees though, saying that giving up a bit of size for quality and unique-ness is actually the better value.
A Mike Garcia Homes’ client wants the design of their home to reflect them and their lifestyle says Dave Enke, Sales Manager. “We’re proud to tell people that their house is a one-of-a-kind,” he says. “It will be their design, quality built, energy efficient and require little maintenance, and is usually surrounded by other Mike Garcia homes in the neighborhood.”
This Prime Property is the perfect example of one-story living, but full of surprises. In Cannon Bluff Estates, Mike Garcia Homes has designed a custom home that at first ap-pearance, looks like a large rambler. Upon entering the massive front door however, the surprises begin.
If you can draw your eyes from the walls of glass in the large dining and family rooms, immediately to the right is tucked away a lovely library with large window overlooking the sweeping lawn. Floor-to-ceiling handcrafted bookshelves line the walls, leading the eye upward to the beautiful domed ceiling. Fine detailing and craftsmanship delight the eye, ensuring a quiet, reflective moment in this private hideaway.
To the left of the foyer is the owner’s suite with a hallway flanked by massive walk-in custom-designed closets leading to the master bath suite with a lavish soaking tub, sepa-rate water closet, expansive vanity and more.
Deeper into the house, and to the rear of the grand family room is the heart of this ex-pansive home – the gourmet kitchen that is highlighted by a granite island, outfitted with high-end appliances and a hand-carved range hood. Through a hallway, a personal valet stands ready for quick clothing freshening, laundry area and mudroom that leads to a side entrance, on the two-car side-load garage and “carriage house” or storage space for lawn equipment, golf cart or vintage sports car.
Back inside the foyer, a door tucked into the wall hides the elevator which takes visi-tors downstairs and into another of this home’s surprises, a finished lower floor with billiards room, bar and dining area, media room with unparalleled surround sound system and wide screen television.
But wait ... there’s more! To the right of the bar is tucked a beautifully wrought iron door with grapes and grape leaves inlaid, encircled by a stone arch. Within lies a hand-crafted wine cellar, cooled to the perfect temperature for preserving fine vintages.
An additional bedroom and bath, as well as storage areas complete this delightful sur-prise.
The upscale, elegant custom home is located in Cannon Bluff Estates, not far from the Occoquan River, shopping, fine dining and offers easy access.
